About & disclaimer
Why this site exists
I spent years working in the finance industry. Along the way I saw how often simple ideas get buried under jargon, product pitches and fees. I built Lazy UCITS to share clear, easy-to-understand information for private investors: what a simple, low-cost portfolio can look like, how it has behaved in your own currency, and which UCITS ETFs can put it into practice.
Everything here is meant to help you learn, not to tell you what to do. I publish every model portfolio openly, explain how the numbers are made, and list funds in a neutral order based on cost and size. If the site helps you ask better questions, pick up a good book or feel more confident when you speak with a licensed adviser, it has done its job.
About the site
Lazy UCITS (working name) is an independent, English-language explorer of simple, low-cost UCITS ETF model portfolios for investors outside the United States: Europe, the UK, Switzerland, Singapore and expats across Asia. It is owned and run by Marc. It publishes every model portfolio openly, shows historical risk in USD, EUR, GBP, SGD and CHF, and lists the UCITS ETFs that implement each building block, in a neutral order based on cost and size.
Disclaimer
- Information only, not advice. Nothing on this site is investment, financial, tax or legal advice, or a personal recommendation. No content has been assessed against your personal circumstances. The model portfolios are generic examples published to the public.
- No suitability assessment. The optional “risk comfort” exercise is general education. It returns a broad equity range drawn from generic investor-education conventions, then shows all portfolios in that range. It does not say what suits you.
- Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. Historical statistics are calculated from proxy ETFs and may differ from any real investment. Values can fall as well as rise, and you may get back less than you invest. Currency movements can increase or reduce returns.
- Accuracy. Fund data is hand-curated from issuer documents and may be out of date or contain errors. Always read the issuer's KID/KIID and prospectus before investing.
- Not for US persons. This site is not directed at US persons (US citizens, green-card holders or US tax residents). UCITS ETFs are generally unsuitable for US taxpayers because of US tax rules on foreign funds. US persons living abroad may find usexpatbanks.com useful.
- Availability. Not every ETF is offered or registered for sale in every country. Check with your broker and local rules.
- Affiliate links. Book links on the reading list are Amazon affiliate links: as an Amazon Associate, Lazy UCITS earns from qualifying purchases. These are currently the site’s only income (see How this site makes money). Broker links are plain links with no affiliate arrangement. If that ever changes, it will be disclosed on the page. Earning a commission never affects which portfolios, funds, brokers or books are listed, or their order.
- Regulated advice. For a personal recommendation, consult a licensed adviser in your country of residence.
